Hello,

Happy almost-Thanksgiving! While Thanksgiving SHOULD be filled with warm fuzzies and lots of good food, sometimes it's also filled with relatives who lack tact... or kindness. The silver lining of relatives who are predictably pesky is that we can PREPARE to handle them in a way that sets our boundaries firmly-yet-gracefully. If you'd like tips on how to do this, click here for a re-share of one of my blogs on this very subject!:)

On another note, let me say how grateful I am that YOU are checking out my monthly newsletter! See below for my latest articles and quotes on two of my favorite topics: BUSINESS and RELATIONSHIPS. As always, please feel free to reply to this newsletter to lmk if there are topics or ideas you'd like to see covered in the future.

Wishing you a warm, safe, and happy Thanksgiving! If you don't happen to celebrate Thanksgiving, still wishing you all the very best of course:)

Warmly,

Dr. Chloe Carmichael PhD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

PS If you love the newsletter or see an article you think would help a friend, please feel free to forward this to them-- it's an easy way to show someone you're thinking of them, and of course I always appreciate the chance to share with people who want fresh ideas!

How to Court a Man

Courtship is the process by which two people get to know one another and decide if they have the possibility of a future together. Courting is different than dating in that courtship is a bit more serious, often with religious motivations and looking to the future with marriage as the ultimate goal. Sometimes courting can be more restricted than dating – with chaperone supervision, strict physical boundaries, or predetermined periods of interaction. If you want to court a man, you should make sure that you are compatible by spending time together, learning about his interests and background, and talking about your respective goals for the future.

How to Be a Good Manager

In every large organization, there's a hierarchy of management that keeps the whole operation running smoothly. A good manager is able to blend into the background, changing small things here and there to great effect. Being a good manager is about leading by example. It's one of the toughest jobs out there — in part because you have to manage other people's expectations — and also because it's one of the least acknowledged tasks. Despite this, there are several tricks of the trade that will help you successfully manage all your responsibility, in style and with verve.

How to Know if You Have Anxiety

Anxiety is a psychological malady associated with feelings of tension, worry and dread. While a certain amount of anxiety is a normal feature of modern life, excessive anxiety can be extremely unpleasant, and can be harmful to long-term physical and mental health. Because anxiety can affect many aspects of the sufferer's sense of physical and mental well-being at once, and in subtle ways which may not seem related to anxiety, it can be difficult to identify when you are suffering the symptoms of anxiety. Understanding the physical and psychological symptoms of excessive anxiety, as well as the symptoms of intense, overwhelming episodes called anxiety attacks, is crucial for understanding the role of anxiety in your life.

6 Signs Of A Serial Dater To Watch Out For Grand gestures aren't always a good thing.

If you've been single and in the dating world for a long time (a relative term, so take it as you will), you've likely stumbled across a "serial dater" at some point.

A serial dater is a unique breed. They fall somewhere in between a casual dater—a person who intentionally seeks very lighthearted romantic or sexual connections (often seeing multiple partners at once)—and a serial monogamist—a person who goes from one relationship into the next without spending much time alone in between them. The serial dater is one who loves the thrill of the chase and the excitement of the beginning, then jumps ship—to a first date with another person—before anything too serious can develop. And they love the power of doing so.

The 11 Dating Rules You Should Probably Try To Follow

They're not so simple and finite—take notes.

I don't have to tell you that dating today is the most complicated it's ever been. Anyone who owns a phone knows that truly connecting with someone—and seeing them consistently enough to build an actual, exclusive relationship (gasp)—is tougher than an overcooked steak. But that's where dating rules come in: When you have guardrails in place to help you stay in your lane and protect you from less straightforward souls, the road to finding The One becomes much easier to navigate.

Mindfulness: Your Secret Business Weapon As a clinical psychologist and former yoga teacher who works with driven business people, I want to clarify a common myth that mindfulness is mainly about relaxation and “being present”. How to Make a Hard Decision Do you sometimes get stuck on decision making? While it’s great to have options, there is a hidden burden: the responsibility of actually making a choice!
