GREETINGS FROM DR. CHLOE FOR OUR FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER

Hello,

Wow, this month is a whirlwind already!  It was super exciting to have my first TV appearance focused on my new book, Nervous Energy: Harness the Power of Your Anxiety. Just a few days later was the free livestream about dating, based  on my other book Dr. Chloe’s 10 Commandments of Dating.

Other highlights were 1-800 Flowers approaching me about a partnership where they’ll help me share my message with their community.  I love those types of “win-win partnerships” where both sides are getting value while also helping each other and the communities around them… if you know of any other people/podcasts/platforms/etc that might be interested in a connection with me, please know that I’m very open right now since I do feel some pressure (in a good way!) to raise awareness about my book as publication is just a few weeks away.  If you do pre-order the book, please be sure to share a screenshot of your proof-of-purchase so I can send you a special thank you gift!

Speaking of gifts, if you’d be interested in trying out my newly revamped anxiety skills course for FREE please do let me know– just hit reply to this email.

Of course, as always please feel free to reply to this email with any thoughts or ideas you may have– I really love hearing from you! You’ll also be getting survey from me sometime soon because I do have some questions for you… I hope you’ll share with me, but no worries either way. I am just thankful that you take the time to let me share with you.

Thanks for reading!

Warmly,

Dr. Chloe Carmichael PhD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

PS If you love the newsletter or see an article or video here that you think would help a friend, please feel free to forward this to them– it’s an easy way to show someone you’re thinking of them, and of course I always appreciate the chance to share with people who want fresh ideas!

LATEST QUOTES

Why You Should Make “Language Tweaking” A 2021 Goal

One of my quotes:

“Constant complaining can keep us focused on negativity… While it is helpful to express and discuss problems, constantly doing so can be problematic. If we are constantly complaining about something, it might be a sign that we need to take action about whatever is causing the problem or learn to focus on other things and/or increase our coping strategies.”

How to Break the Cycle of Emotional Eating

One of my quotes:

“People who cope with their emotions through food will often berate themselves after the fact, feeling like they are failing at their goals… This leads to more sadness and then back to eating to provide solace.”

How to Deal With Loving Someone You Can’t Have

One of my quotes:

“Part of why breakups can be so painful is that [everything] in our current environment reminds us of our ex… It can sometimes seem as if everything in our life reminds us of that person. One way to change this is to deliberately create new experiences to help the old memories start to recede. New experiences can also subtly reassure us that there are other possibilities in life.”

How to Motivate Yourself when Depressed

“Dealing with depression is difficult and frustrating, but there is hope. Better days will eventually come along. In the meantime, you can motivate yourself to get through your day or work toward a goal. Getting motivated may not be easy, but you can do it. Making tiny changes in your day can help you start to build momentum and keep yourself motivated. Read full article here.

How to Calm Down When You are Angry

“Are you prone to fits of rage? Have you been known to curse, kick at things, and scream obscenities while scaring away all of the people in your orbit? Do you suddenly feel your blood boiling when you’re stuck in traffic, get some relatively minor bad news, or just hear something you don’t want to hear? If so, then you need to find a way to manage your anger before it takes over your life. Dealing with chronic anger can be very difficult, so you need to learn strategies for calming yourself in the moment of anger and over time. Read full article here.

How to Take a Relationship Slow

“Today, young people can feel pressure to get intimate with their partner before they are ready. If you’d prefer to take your relationship slow, don’t worry — you have every reason to. Set reasonable boundaries and communicate your wishes to your partner clearly to control the pace of your relationship. Only take things to the “next level” when you’re ready. Read full article here.
