I'm taking it sloooooow today. Have you ever had I'm taking it sloooooow today.

Have you ever had a day when you just felt the need to hibernate? A lot of high functioning people try to override those times because they are so into productivity and pushing themselves to go farther. While I like to push myself pretty hard sometimes, one of the things that I have learned is that sometimes it's actually super important to pay attention when your body or mind are telling you to just pause and rest.... sometimes it is in moments of quiet reflection when we can have our most meaningful insights. 🤓

Taking time out for yourself is also good for your self-esteem!!

As a clinical psychologist, I'm constantly telling people that self-esteem is a behavior, meaning that doing behaviors of good self-care (like taking a break when you need it) are ways that you can signal to yourself that your feelings matter and deserve attention. 🥰

I totally understand that not everybody has the option to take a break, and sometimes I actually don't have that option either. But I just wanted to share this in case YOU might be someone who sometimes pushes themselves harder than what is actually really optimal for your growth. 😅

So... if you needed to see this post today to feel like you had permission to take a break then by all means I encourage you to join me today in doing so ❤️

I'm fact, I would love to know what YOUR favorite things are to do when you feel like hibernating... I'm always happy to learn new tips :-) feel free to share with me in the comments below!
