Hi!

It feels like we’ve been living through one heartbreaking headline after another—the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the Minnesota school shooting, and now the violence at an ICE facility in Dallas. 💔 Each of these moments has left many people reeling, with strong emotions and conflicting narratives about what really happened and what it all means.

Regardless of personal opinions about the individuals or institutions involved, what’s clear is that when speech is shut down, misunderstandings and division deepen—and the toll on our mental health grows heavier. That’s why I’ve been sharing in recent interviews with Dr. Phil, Dr. Drew, and others how open dialogue can help us process difficult events, lower stress, and foster connection even in disagreement.

These conversations are also at the heart of my upcoming book, Can I Say That? Why Free Speech Matters and How to Use It Fearlessly. It offers practical tools for navigating turbulent times with courage, compassion, and clarity. 📘💚

Warm regards,

P.S. One of the articles below mentions Charlie Kirk. I know there are misquotes and selective edits circulating that have created confusion about his views. Please know that I would never support anyone who promotes racism, sexism, or homophobia—those ideas are completely opposed to my values and my work. If you’d like clarifying information, you can click here to learn more. Regardless of whether we agree with his positions, hopefully we all agree that political violence is never the answer.

P.P.S. In complicated times, putting thoughts into words can bring relief. If you feel moved, I’d love to hear what’s on your mind and/or what’s been helping you stay grounded. 🌟
