3 Reasons Why You Should Host a Livestream

Have you tried doing live streams?

There are so many ways you can utilize social media to grow your business and connect with others. The possibilities are endless, but one tool that I love is to do live streams! I do live streams that are relevant to my audience, like my recent one on managing the holidays during COVID, and these help me to connect with my audience and grow my exposure.

3 Reasons Why You Should Host Your Own Live Stream

  1. Networking
The best thing about a live stream is in the name: it's LIVE! You are able to go live on your Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Instagram, or LinkedIn (or you can go live on most of those channels at once with this awesome tool I use called Restream.)

While you are live, you’ll be able to interact at the moment with people who are tuned in: they can ask questions, introduce themselves, you could even consider hosting a giveaway of some sort on your stream to encourage engagement. You can network in real-time with your audience, and build a meaningful and engaged community that can help you grow your business.
  2. Share your expertise
Share your knowledge with the world! When building your reputation as a therapist, putting out information that demonstrates your skill is a great way to build trust with your audience. For the same reason we write blog posts, live streams can be a much more engaging way to share what you know, what you specialize in, and how you can help!
  3. Connect with others in your industry
This is a little tip I use with all my live streams... a great way to get your name out there is to endorse products you really believe in. Maybe it’s a lifestyle product, maybe it’s a virtual therapy company you're really passionate about: whatever it is, you absolutely can mention it to your audience, emphasizing that you do not have a paid relationship with the company.

I then have my assistant edit out a clip of just me endorsing the product. My assistant will then send this clip to the companies, and they have the option of featuring me on their social media, expanding my reach even more! I’ve even made it on a product’s Amazon page with this trick before.

Livestreams are just one of the many tools on social media you can utilize to grow your practice and connect with new audiences.
